Module 1 | Female Life Cycle: Moon Cycles, Fertility, Pregnancy, Menopause.
A woman’s moon cycles are an important indicator of her overall health. Therefore, in this training we will spend time learning about a woman’s moon cycles and how awareness of this cycle can enhance everything from overall health to fertility, to an easeful transition into menopause. We will explore the foundations of teaching a safe and effective Prenatal Yoga Class, as well as how to modify any class for a pregnant student. Ayurveda and nutrition for women will be discussed, as well as basic modifications and relaxation for the pregnant Goddess. Great intro to your Prenatal Training, and a must-do training for those teaching general Yoga Classes where pregnant women attend occasionally. This module may be taken separately, or as part of the three module series.

Module 2 | Female Anatomy and Yoga for Healthy Pelvis, Hips, Shoulders and Back.IMG_0126
This weekend has a focus on all things anatomy, with practical application to women and the pregnant Goddess! We will expand on the foundations set in Module 1, and continue to learn more modifications and usage of props, as well as some therapeutic yoga to help ease the common discomforts of pregnancy and menopause, as well as enhancing fertility. Anatomy of the pelvis, pelvic floor, hips, shoulders, and back will be discussed. In relation to the pelvic floor anatomy, we will learn about kegels, mula bandha, uddiyana bandha and pranayama.  Guest teacher for this Module is Dr. Aimee Limpach, an anatomy and biology expert from Creighton University Medical Center.

Module 3 | Pregnancy and Birth as a Transformational and Empowering Female Experience.
In this weekend we will explore birth as an opportunity for women to experience their pregnancy, labor and birth as a transformative experience. We will learn about the birthing process, options in birth and postpartum care. We will spend time practice teaching, and learning about yoga poses and techniques to enhance the birthing process. Couples yoga, pain management techniques, and yoga for birth will all be part of this weekend’s training.  Guest teachers for this Module are Kelly Langfeldt and Dusti Bosworth from Five Stones Birthing. Dusti and Kelly are both Certified Doulas, Massage Therapists and Hynobabies Teachers.

* Part of the requirement for completing the full 85-Hour Prenatal Teacher Training is to observe 7 and assist 2 of Carole Westerman’s Prenatal Yoga classes on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. There is no additional charge for observing and/or assisting class if you are part of the 85-Hour Training Program.
